Lectures and Workshops

William F. Symes

item1b

My love of psychology and human perception has led me into some interesting experiences. I have an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies, I am a Seminary graduate and Ordained Christian Minister of the Congregational Church U.C.C. (pilgrims), I've lived with the Navajo People, studied Buddhism with the Dalai Lama, explored the relationship between belief and healing, practiced and taught meditation and T'ai Chi (a slow-motion martial art), studied and taught patterns of myth, fairy tale and dreaming, was an organizer for the United Farm Workers during the '70's, fund raiser for Tibetan Refugee relief in the 90's, led film groups, taught journaling and dream groups, lectured on Carl Jung and his psychology, taught and written about Joseph Campbell's ideas on the Hero Journey, .....and well...you get the idea. I am also an avid gardener, musician, and basketball player.

The image to the left is called: "Man in the Maze" and is a Hopi/Pueblo symbol for the map of the human life. It is the maze that we travel through seeking the center of meaning and purpose. The image below is the Tibetan Kalachakra, Wheel of Time, symbolizing complete integration of mind and body.
