Clinical Supervision

Your "final" training should be challenging and insightful. Commitment, Courage, Curiosity; these three character strengths are the basic tools. Clinical supervision is the final, and most critical part of a therapist's training. Choosing a supervisor is choosing to belong to a lineage of therapists and the wisdom that has been shared from generation to generation. It is in the clinical supervision that one learns effective diagnosis, technical skills, emotional balance, treatment modalities, insight into self and others, superior cognitive skills, mercy and discipline. My fundamental training modality is psychodynamic: self psychology. A colleague of mine once called psychodynamics, "the fingerprints of God". Click on Clinical Supervision to explore further the techniques and training that I offer as a Supervisor.

I will have 2 supervision hours available: LAC supervision or clinical consultation on diagnosis and treatment strategies: as of January. 1, 2008

Psychological Counseling

There are many choices to consider when seeking counseling. Do I go to a therapist, or counselor, or psychotherapist, or psychologist, or psychiatrist, or marriage and family counselor? And what kind of University degree, or state license should they have? Knowing a bit about psychotherapy helps us make informed choices and improves the chances that we'll find the person and the method that will help us the most. Click on Psychological Counseling for some helpful hints.
